MPC Mortgages wants to help you along your journey and guide and advise you in a friendly, manner to help you in your goal of one day being mortgage-free.

With years of experience in the mortgage industry—starting at Nationwide Building Society and later as a mortgage broker for a top firm since 2015—our journey has been built on expertise, trust, and a passion for helping clients. In 2025, we took the exciting step of creating our own brand, driven by a commitment to making the mortgage process as transparent, supportive, and stress-free as possible.
We believe that mortgages and protection products should be about more than just numbers—they should be about people. That’s why we focus on educating and advising our clients, ensuring they feel confident in every decision. We’re not here for one-off transactions; we’re here to build lasting relationships. From staying in touch with you, your solicitors, and estate agents to regularly reviewing your mortgage options before your new term starts, we go the extra mile to make sure you’re always getting the right deal.

First time buyer's experience

James got in touch with Mike while working as a mortgage advisor at Nationwide Building Society. Although James did not have a substantial deposit, he was interested in knowing how much he could borrow. During that time, Nationwide was offering a unique mortgage product called “Save to Buy”. This product allowed individuals to purchase a home with a 5% deposit if they opened a savings account with the bank and saved a small amount for six months. James decided to open a savings account with the building society and saved enough money to buy a one-bedroom flat worth £97k. He raised a deposit of £4,750 from his savings and a gift from his parents.

After living in the flat for almost a year and a half, James’s girlfriend moved in with him. They stayed there for 18 months, and the value of the flat increased to £120k. Later on, when James, Emma, and Mike sat down, they worked out that James and Emma could afford a 2-bedroom home costing £200k with their joint income and a deposit of £30k (which included £25k from the equity in the flat and £5k in savings contributed by Emma). 

After living in the house for two years, James and Emma decided to start a family and wanted a more spacious home. They had both received pay rises and made minor improvements to their home, which increased its value. They sat down with Mike again and worked out what they could afford. After living in their current home for over four years, they are delighted with it. 
 
The question remains, would James have been able to achieve all this if he had not had his initial conversation with Mike about his borrowing potential all of those years ago?

Mike has been a dedicated mortgage broker since 2016, following a decade of experience at Nationwide Building Society. With a strong track record of helping hundreds of clients, he is a trusted and knowledgeable Mortgage and Protection Advisor.
Beyond mortgages, Mike values building strong relationships. Over the years, he has developed a reliable network of estate agents and solicitors, ensuring his clients have access to the best professionals when they need them.
 
Outside of work, Mike enjoys quality time with his family and his loyal dog, Hugo. He’s also a passionate footballer and plays for the Lewes Vets team.
